About
The Transcona Oldtimers Hockey League isn’t just about goals, saves, or who wins the last shift of the night—it’s about community, camaraderie, and keeping the spirit of the game alive well past our twenties.
We’re a group of local guys who still love lacing them up late at night, not because the scouts are watching (they’re definitely not), but because hockey is more than a sport—it’s a way to stay active, laugh with friends, and keep the Transcona community connected.
Our league is built on three things:
1. Community
We’re proud to be a true neighborhood league. Players, friends, and families come together at East End Arena, building bonds that extend beyond the ice. Whether you’re a long-time Transcona resident or new to the area, you’ll find the TOHL is a place where everyone is welcome, where new friendships are made, and where post-game wing nights are as important as the games themselves.
2. Health & Wellness
Hockey keeps us moving. It’s an outlet for stress, a reason to stay fit, and a way to invest in our health while having fun. Skating a few laps and laughing with the boys is often the best medicine for a long day. The league gives players an excuse to put down the remote, lace up the skates, and enjoy the mental and physical benefits of staying active.
3. Fun & Competition
Yes, we keep score. Yes, we want to win. But at the end of the day, the TOHL is about enjoying the game we grew up loving. The pace is competitive enough to keep everyone sharp, but always grounded in good sportsmanship and humor (sometimes at our own expense). The ribbing in the dressing room is almost as important as the plays on the ice.
The Transcona Oldtimers Hockey League is more than a hockey schedule—it’s a tradition. A place to stay healthy, connect with community, and prove to ourselves that even if we can’t quite backcheck like we used to, we can still have a blast trying.
Whether you’re a player, a fan, or a local business looking to support grassroots hockey, the TOHL is here to celebrate the game, the laughs, and the community we share.
