🏆 TOHL 2025–26 Season Recap: Pistols Capture the Brad Little Cup

Another season in the Transcona Oldtimers Hockey League has come to a close — and what a ride it was. From opening night to the final buzzer, the 2025–26 campaign delivered everything you’d expect from TOHL hockey: tight standings, wild games, breakout performances, and just enough chaos to keep things interesting every single week.

And in the end…
🔫 The Pistols are your 2026 TOHL Champions.

🔥 A Season Defined by Parity

If there was one word to describe this season, it’s parity.

At multiple points throughout the year, we saw five of the six teams separated by just a few points, with the standings constantly shifting. The Blue Jackets, T-Birds, Greenbacks, EMO, and Pistols all had stretches where they looked like the team to beat.

It made every game meaningful — and every Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday night at East End feel like playoff hockey long before the postseason even began.

💙 Blue Jackets Set the Pace

The Blue Jackets were a force all season long, finishing near the top and showcasing one of the most explosive offenses in the league.

Led by names like Brendan Young, the Jackets consistently filled the net and controlled games with speed and puck movement. Even in the playoffs, they proved they were built for big moments, battling their way through a tough bracket to earn a spot in the final.

🟢 Greenbacks & 🐦 T-Birds: Powerhouses All Year

The Greenbacks and T-Birds were right there all season, trading blows at the top of the standings.

  • The Greenbacks leaned on depth and big performances from players like Stelmack, who had multiple statement games.

  • The T-Birds combined strong goaltending and timely scoring, with guys like Bauman and Beavis stepping up when it mattered most.

Both teams were legitimate contenders — and both pushed the eventual champs to elevate their game.

😇 EMO & 🏒 Stiff Stixx: Grit, Growth, and Moments

EMO showed flashes of brilliance all season, with players like Dzikowski and Kjernisted making noise offensively and keeping them in the playoff mix.

The Stiff Stixx, meanwhile, embraced the grind. While the standings didn’t always reflect it, the team improved as the season went on, played hard every night, and made opponents earn everything. That kind of growth doesn’t go unnoticed — and don’t be surprised if they come back even stronger next year.

🔫 The Pistols’ Playoff Run

Then came the playoffs — and that’s where the Pistols flipped the switch.

As a #5 seed, they weren’t the favorites. But they didn’t play like underdogs for long.

  • They knocked off top teams

  • Got contributions up and down the lineup

  • And leaned on clutch performances when the stakes were highest

At the center of it all?
🔥 Cole Pruden, who delivered one of the most dominant playoff performances in recent TOHL memory — including a 2-goal, 2-assist night in the championship game.

🏆 Championship Night: Pistols vs Blue Jackets

The final saw two teams that earned their way there the hard way:
Pistols vs Blue Jackets — a true grudge match.

And when it mattered most, the Pistols delivered.

Final Score: 4–1 Pistols

  • Pruden led the way with 2 goals and 2 assists

  • Conrad and Gates added key goals

  • The team locked it down defensively to close things out

For the Jackets, Phipps found the back of the net, but the Pistols controlled the game and left no doubt.

🏒 More Than Just Hockey

At its core, TOHL is about more than standings and stats.

It’s about:

  • Late-night puck drops

  • Friendly chirps (and not-so-friendly ones)

  • Cold beers after the game

  • And a community that keeps showing up week after week

This season had all of that — and then some.

👀 Looking Ahead

With the 2025–26 season officially wrapped:

🏆 Pistols – Champions
👏 Everyone else – already thinking about next year

We’ll be back in October for another season — and we’re always looking to add new teams to the mix.

Because if this season taught us anything…
it’s that anything can happen in the TOHL.

Until then… get some golf in. ⛳
